• About us

The Sydney Cancer Centre is at the forefront of cancer care and research in Australia.

We are based at Royal Prince Alfred Hospital, have facilities at Concord Hospital, and provide outreach services to Dubbo Base Hospital. We are part of Sydney Local Health District (SLHD) and work closely with the University of Sydney.

Our vision and mission is to deliver to our patients and those who care for them innovative, effective and compassionate cancer care and support, according to the best research evidence. This is achieved through the development of a coordinated, multidisciplinary team of highly talented and motivated people working in clinical care, research, education and psycho-oncology.

The Centre has the largest concentration of cancer specialists in NSW with dedicated Tumour Programs for Breast, Gynaecological, Haematological, Head and Neck, Melanoma, Non-Melanoma Skin Cancer, and Urological Cancers. For Bone and Soft Tissue, Colorectal, Lung, Neurological and Upper Gastro-Intestinal Cancers we partner with expert cancer teams at Royal Prince Alfred (RPA) and Concord Hospitals. Palliative care services are provided at RPA, Concord and Canterbury hospitals.

Our patients and their families and carers also benefit from our comprehensive cancer support program.

The Sydney Cancer Centre is set to evolve into Lifehouse at RPA, a world-class cancer treatment and research facility providing integrated care to patients and their carers.

A centre of excellence, Lifehouse at RPA will integrate comprehensive clinical care, research, education, psychosocial, wellness and volunteer programs creating opportunities for innovative discoveries, compassionate holistic care and better outcomes for patients. Lifehouse at RPA will be a not-for-profit public benevolent institution. Income will be re-invested to continually innovate and improve services treating public and private patients alike.
