• Parking and transportation

    Parking

    There is metered parking in surrounding streets and various pay car parks. The Hospital car park is behind the King George V Building other car parks are located at the RPA Medical Centre on Carillion Avenue and St Johns College on Missenden Road.

    There are a few disabled parking spaces outside the main Sydney Cancer Centre building and the Radiation Oncology building. There is also some parking for patients having radiotherapy outside the Radiation Oncology building. If you have to come regularly for appointments you can apply for an access card to the hospital car park. There is a refundable security deposit of $20 for the access card and parking costs $15 per week. Contact Security and Parking services on level 5 of the main hospital building or phone them on 02 9515 8853. You will need to complete an application form and return it in person to RPA Security and Parking Services.

    Patients can be dropped off or picked up from outside the Sydney Cancer Centre in the 20 minute drop off zone.

    Bus Stops 1, 3 and 5 

    Bus Number 412 From City (Town Hall) to Campsie Station via George Street, Railway Square, Parramatta Road, Missenden Road, RPA Hospital, Newtown, Camperdown, Stanmore, Petersham, Lewisham, Marrickville, Earlwood and Canterbury.

    Bus Stops 2 and 4 

    Bus Number 412 From Campsie Station to City (Town Hall) via Canterbury, Earlwood, Marrickville, Lewisham, Petersham, Stanmore, Camperdown, Newtown, RPA Hospital, Missenden Road, Parramatta Road, Railway Square and George Street.

    Bus Stop 6 (on King Street Newtown) 

    Bus Number 370 From Coogee to Leichhardt via Randwick (University of New South Wales), Green Square, St. Peters, Newtown, Sydney University, Glebe, Annandale and Leichhardt Town Hall.

    Bus Stop 7 (on King Street Newtown) 

    Bus Number 370 From Leichhardt to Coogee via Leichhardt Town Hall, Annandale, Glebe, Sydney University, Newtown, St. Peters, Green Square and Randwick (University of New South Wales).

    Note: Frequent bus services stop along Parramatta Road (413, 436,438, 440, 461, 480, 483) and along City Road/King Street (422, 423, 426, 428) stop at the corner of Missenden Road and Parramatta Road where a short (uphill) walk will take you to RPA Hospital. Bus route 431 can be caught from the corner of Parramatta Road and Glebe Point Road and will take you to the end of Glebe Point road and the waterfront parks.

    Trains

    The nearest railway stations are Newtown (King Street, Newtown) and MacDonaldtown (Burren Street, Erskineville). Both are a 20 to 30 minute walk from the Sydney Cancer Centre.

    Taxis

    A taxi rank is located outside the hospital near the Emergency department. If required, a taxi can also be ordered for you.
